The project
Tom brought the Jakob Owens Horror Short Film Contest to the Submerged team: Leigh, Damian, Maria and me. The film had to be five minutes long and built around one prompt: VHS.
We started with a group call, pitching ideas for what a VHS tape could mean in a horror story, until we had a loose outline everyone was excited about.
What I did
Leigh, Maria and I took that outline and wrote the script together, with Leigh doing the final pass.
On set, Maria and I filled whatever the shoot needed. We worked as ADs, producer's assistants and production managers, ran sound, and I helped Leigh with hair and makeup.
